My Make Up Loves

I’ll be the first to admit I’m a lover of make up, but when it come’s to the application of said products I am not the best. Looking over social media there are endless photographs of females (and males) with expertly applied make up. This to me is a skill and not one I have accomplished myself.

That said I do love playing with new products and hoping somehow applying it will transform me into a Kardashian. It never happens, but still I try!

I’ve got some hero products that I am currently using, so read on to see what they are…

First up is the base, and after I have cleansed and moistured, I use these products;

For foundation I use Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation with Collection’s Illuminating Touch cream mixed in for a more luminous finish. With this I use the new Make Up Revolution Conceal and Countour (which for a mere £4 is definitely worth it) and to add a bit more highlight on my cheek bones I use the Glow liquid from Topshop.

The foundation lasts well, most of the day I have found and give coverage from almost full but without being too cakey or heavy.

For my eyes I am currently loving the NYX Ultimate Palette which has lot’s of lovely warm gold, berry and brown tones with some shimmer. The pigmentation is great for the price and blends well.
For mascara I am loving Stila’s Huge Lash Mascara, which has a big thick brush for getting lot’s of volume on my lashes.
I also team this with Stila’s Stay All Day eyeliner pen. I don’t get on with normal wet eyeliner, I find I’m just not that good at creating a nice smooth line and khol pencils always smudge, so this eyeliner is perfect.
It does what it says on the packaging and it does stay put all day. No smudging or transferring, even after a long day. I thoroughly recommend.

For my brows, I have numberous types of products for my brows and the one that I have defaulted to (so much so that I got another one as my current one is running out) the Benefit brown pencil. This is an old product as they stopped selling this particually one when they relaunced their brow range.
You can still get it on Amazon which I did, so I hope it won’t go out of sale completely as after a number of years searching I have found the perfect shade. I set my brows in place with Benefits Ready Set Brow. This is like clear mascara for your brows and stops any product coming off during the day.

For my lips I have been wearing shade Chestnut from H&M. This is a warm dark nude and is so creamy in it’s texture. It compliments the NYX eyeshadow palette shades well.

On my cheeks I like to add some colour (esp at this time of year) with The Body Shops bronzing powder. With speckles of gold and pink with the bronze shade I feel it does the job to stop me looking washed out.

And that is what I am currently loving make up wise. I’m all about the drug store brands. Maybe one day I will be able to afford the likes of Charlotte Tilbury and Too Faced, but I just can’t justify the cost!

I’d love to know what make brands you are currently loving at the mo. Please do share your recommendations below.

Lot’s of love,

      Hi Maja, it's made to look so easy but I just can't quite get the knack of looking like I know what I'm doing. But it's sure fun to try! Xx
