You may have read in a previous post that I purchased a new desk from IKEA. Such a worth while purchase. But recently I thought my desk needed re organising. So I did a lit visual merchandising and wanted to share my new desk layout…
To start with the desk is called Linnmon/Alex. Looking on the website I thought it was all one item, but after visiting the store, the desk comes in two parts, the table (desk part called Linnmon) and the draws you slot underneath called Alex. And I already filled the draws of random stuff. That bit needs re-organising!
Over time I have collected/gained/whatever various decorative items to dot around the flat and have ultilised some of these on my desk. Let’s begin…
From left to right; The cat trinket pot is from one of my favourite shops called Tiger. The framed quote was a bargain of £1.99 from The Card Factory. The faux potted flower is from Home Sense and the rose gold desk lamp is from IKEA for £10.
This memo pad I found in Home Sense. They have a fantastic homeware range and I have to restrain myself from buying too many note pads! The ball point pen and also the pencil which is also a pen is from Home Sense that comes in a pack of 4.
These pots I have mentioned before and make great storage solutions. The spotty pot is in fact a Cath Kidston mug and the glass pot is one I customised in a previous blog post. The pencils inside are from Home Sense. See they do great stationery!
These colourful draws are a recent purchase as I was looking for some draws to go on my desk. I found these in Ryman’s stationers for the fab price of £10. They are from a company called The Really Useful Storage Company. Colourful and indeed useful!
On top of the draws I have placed my note cards and envelopes from Home Sense. Also I recently brought some clip binders and paperclips in these cute glass pots from Wilko’s. The owl ornament is from Homebase (I went through a phase of owning lots of owl themed items!).
More faux flowers from Home Sense (and no I’m not sponsered by Home Sense!) with my No5 Chanel spray and Philosophy fragrance. Some pretty features for my desk.
This is a framed quote I got from Coconut Lane (www.coconut-lane.com) and if you use this discount code abbiesmusings20 on their website you get 20% off your order! Groovy!
The candle is from Cath Kidstom, as I love CK and thought this would like pretty on my desk.
This pin board is recently acquired from Wilko’s. I thought I would use this to pin notes, business cards and photo’s to it to add some personality and identity to my desk. The wooden push pins are also from Wilko’s.
This coaster I got from a shop in the laines in Brighton called Sas and Belle. They do so many cute and girly home ware accessories and I really liked this bear on his bike with the quote. A bit of positivity can’t be wrong!
And lastly my trinket dish from Next, which reads Pretty Little Things. I am currently using this to store my Illamasqua nail polishes.
And that is my desk tour! I hope you like it as much as I do! Until next time,
