As any beauty loving person, I have a selection of products that I always have in supply. Almost like I should have them on repeat prescription!
I do love finding new brands and products, but nothing beats having those go to products you just love. So I wanted to share with you what my beauty loves are should they maybe something you might love too!
Le Teint Touche Elcat by Yves Saint Laurent
Lets start with the basics, and by that I mean foundation. I have tried sooo many foundations over the years and earlier in 2015 I was looking for a really good quality foundation with great reviews. After a bit of searching I decided on the Le Teint Touche Eclat as it came with rave reviews.
Yes, it is a bit pricey, but I do believe you get what you pay for with this. The finish it gives is dewy with a not too heavy coverage. And it lasts. I wish I was the sort of person who touched up their make up through out the day, but I’m too lazy, so the fact I can apply it in the morning and not need to worry about it through out the day is an added bonus.
I am on my second bottle now and this time have gone for one shade warmer for the winter. Anyway I love this and if you give it a go, I would love to know if you do too.
Touche Eclat by Yves Saint Laurent
The Le Teint’s is also great used with the iconic Touche Eclat. I do believe this is a cult product, so I was convinced to give this a go. I have also had a few of these and use it to cover up under eye area’s and any blemishes. It applies well with the brush head and has the well known ‘click’ bottom. Though if you have not used one from new before, you do have to click it quite a few times to get the product to appear!
I will admit I perhaps might have a shade too light, or I have too dark under eyes, as I do sometimes have to add additional concealer. But I still believe this an item I will always want in my make up bag!
Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
Now I will disclaim now I am no make up artist or able to apply make up in a way that is admired by others. I love make up, but being able to apply it well is not my forte! So products that are easy to use and feel lovely on your skin I definitely go to. And the Baby Skin primer is a product I use every time I make up my face. I’ve not used other primers, so I have nothing else to compare this to, but I can say this does make my skin feel so soft after applying and I do think it helps my foundation last longer on my face and give a more even complexion.
And I love the colour of the packaging!
Urban Decay Naked Palette 3
I have three of the Urban Decay palettes and this one is currently my favourite as I love the pink tones it contains. As a girly girl, I do have a love for the colour pink and this really suits my style.
Again not the cheapest of palettes, but a great investment if you can.
If you are looking for a more purse friendly palette with similar colours, then take a look at the make up range from Revolution, which is stocked in Superdrug. There is a palette for a mere £4 which is almost identical to the Urban Decay palette.
There are lot’s of great images of looks created using the Urban Decay palette on Pinterest and Instagram and try as I might I can never get my make up to look like the pro’s. But I find the fun is in trying and hoping I look passable at the end!
Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara
If there is one make up item I ALWAYS use, it is mascara. I don’t have the curliest or longest lashes, so I turn to mascara to give my lashes a boost. My all time favourite mascara is They’re Real by Benefit Cosmetics as it does exactly as it says in the tin.
But as I was running low on this, I decided to buck the trend and try another mascara for a change and after I saw Zoella say she was using this I thought I’d give it a go too.
It gives great coverage, isn’t too gloopy and is a good dark shade of black. It also doesn’t smudge or leave me panda eyed by the end of the day. And very reasonably priced to boot 🙂
Maybelline Brown Satin eyebrow pencil
I think there is a theme here with Maybelline products! Well if the shoe fits (or some equally random saying!). As I am no pro with make up, that also means my eyebrows. I tend to pluck mine as I did try to grow them out before to be a la Cara Delevingne and no, it wasn’t a good look. So I try to keep my eye brows looking in some sort of shape by tweezing out any stray hairs. I think though I will bite the bullet and get them done professionally as they say you’re eyebrows are supposed to be like sisters, not twins, but mine are more like cousins!
This pencil is double ended with a pencil end and a more powder type of product at the other. It is easy to apply and lasts all day too. Gotta love a long lasting product!
Though when this was first launched I searched about 5 different Boots and Supredrug stores for one as it was consistently sold out, even online. When I first found one, I was literally was like ‘woo hoo’!
Simple things please simple minds! 😉
I heart make up by Revolution Triple Baked Blusher
I love the packaging of this blusher. It comes in a cute pink heart shaped box! Inside is a blusher dived into three shades, a light tan, pink and dark tan. The overall look on my cheeks when I’ve applied this is a rosy cheeked look. I sometimes have to tone it down as it can be quite vibrant (or maybe I just get too blusher happy!), but after I’ve toned it down, I am good to go.
Anything from the Revolution range is a winner to me, so I might just invest in another one in a different shade to add to the collection!
Nars nail polish in Pastorole
I have coveted nail polishes for years and until I had a mass clear out recently I did have far more than I actually required for a person with 10 fingers and toes. Being that I love pink, I have been looking for a rose gold colour and after seeing the Pastorale online being the best match for rose gold, I purchased it and gave it a go. The colour is very pretty, slightly metallic with a definite pinky gold shimmer. It also wears well. This has been one of the more pricer nail polishes I have brought, but I do think the cost has warranted the longevity of the colour.
And that is my current Beauty Loves. I would love to know what products you are rating at the moment, so feel free to leave a comment below!
Thanks for reading. Love
