OMG I'm back again!

3 March 2018 Chichester, UK

Hello there! It's been a little while since I graced my blog with a post or two, so short of actually having a particular topic in mind to write about I thought I would bring you up to speed with what I've been doing I since I last posted. Phew, that was a long sentence!

I would love to tell you I have been doing something amazing and wonderful, but the truth be told I haven't really been or done much other than work. The main reason for my hiatus you may be wondering? Well as I always strive for honesty, I have fallen a bit off the blogging wagon. For the last two and a half years I have poured almost all my free time into blogging. And for no reason at all over the last month or so, my passion that drove me to blog consistently just vanished! Whoosh! Just gone and packed it's bags without a backwards glance!
I wish I could pin point it to something in particular, but other than feeling demotivated as my views have gone down a bit.

At the beginning of the year I had a bit of a blog refresh, new layout and content I felt more satisfied with. But the views for each post since then weren't getting the hits as previous posts. So I think after two and a half years of blogging solidly, I have hit a bit of a metaphorical brick wall.
Out of steam and outta ideas!

So I have taken some time to just enjoy my free time to do what I want to do without feeling the pressure to take photo's, write a post, edit photos and even just come up with ideas for posts. And you know what? It's been good. Don't get me wrong, writing is still a passion of mine. Hence writing this post, but the feeling of not being tied to a schedule has been refreshing.

Going forward I don't know what I am going to do with my blog as I still don't feel i'm back in the blogging zone, but I wanted to keep anyone who may read my blog up to date with where I am at.

So what have I been doing with my free time? A number of small things, like re-watching Friends on Netflix from season one. I loved Friends when it first aired in the UK back in the 90's. And I think I love it just a bit more this time round as I can watch it back to back and keep up with the seasons without big gaps in between. And I can appreciate their lifestyles a bit more too. When I first watched friends I was 15 or 16 years old, but now I'm actually older than the characters themselves!

I've also been utilising Instagram a lot more. I decided I wanted to try and get to 1000 followers and I'm slowly but hopefully surely getting there. I've been enjoying taking photo's of all the things I have been loving recently and engaging with other Instagrammers. Perhaps I will tire with that at some point, but for now it's been the social media platform I've been on the most.
Twitter has taken a back seat too. When I was blogging more frequently I was on twitter engaging with other bloggers and tweeting a lot more, but now I go on there and tweet every couple of days.

Perhaps it's time for another platform to launch? I have heard of Vero, but I'm not jumping on the bandwagon as I know nothing about it and I don't want to go to something just cos everyone else is. I'm a sheep most of the time, but I am getting more skeptical in my old age! I use Facebook for my work and for my friends and family. Twitter I use for my blog and Instagram I use as I enjoy it.
I feel too past it for Snapchat or whats that other one? On the tip of my tongue, yes, Watsapp. Don't use that either.

Maybe I'm getting too long in the tooth for all this social media? I mean I enjoy it mostly, but I'm not it's target demographic I think, now I'm reaching 34 years old! I mean I could be the mum of a teenager had I had a child in my early 20's. Then I would feel like I was cramping the cool one's style.

Like I said I don't know what's next for my blog. After this long of blogging I was half hoping my blog would be slightly more recognized than it is, but then that's partly me not working harder to get it more noticed and perhaps I'm just not that good to be successful?!

Anyway I will continue to keep you posted with the progress of my blog as it happens. If you want to keep up to date with me more regularly you'll find me on Instagram at www.instagram.com/lovedbyabbiechic

Thanks for coming by and thanks for your continued support. I do thoroughly appreciate each and every view I get :)

Love and hugs,

Abbie
