12 Days of #Blogmas- Day 5- My Christmas decorations

Every year I like to dig out the Christmas decorations and add some festive cheer to my flat. When I was younger we (my mum and sister) had the same baubles every year and it became a tradition to put them out.
I remember I once got a bauble from a now defunct gift store called Past Times and I loved it so much as it was mine and not just a cheapy one from a set from another defunct shop Woolworths.
I would put it out on the tree every year and it would always make me smile.

When I lived at home as a child, we used to always get a real Christmas tree. And nothing beat that smell of pine. Back then artificial tree's weren't so common place as they are now. I would love a real tree now but it's far easier to buy a packaged artificial one in a box and reuse every year than trying to source a real one.

Anyway I have added a few hints of Christmas around my bedroom, as well as having my tree up. I would love to live in a old style house, with an open fire and make it all traditionally Christmas and cosy, but I have a new build flat so I've made the best with what I've got!

Above I have my Merry & Bright trinket dish from John Lewis. A posy of faux flowers from Sainsburys and my Christmas Wishes picture also from Sainsburys.  Just a few touches to add a festive feel.

Above I have a Christmas tree candle from Asda and a ceramic Christmas tree from Tiger stores.

Above I have my brushed cotton duvet cover from BHS Home stores, with my John Lewis fluffy blanket and the best thing a pillow has ever had, a teddy bear feel pillow case from Dunelm. These are so soft. And I also have the teddy bear fitted sheet which is also very soft and warm for the colder months.

I have been looking for a reasonably priced musical snowglobe and I found this Santa one in a gift shop in Southampton for £5.00.

Above is a small Christmas tree I have in the corner of my bedroom. I have used pale pinks and blues with silver and gold for a pastel look. Finished with tinsel and silver beading. I love this in my bedroom as it's super cosy when then the lights are on the tree and the rest of the room unlit.

Above is the Christmas tree in my front room. Every year I go for a different colour theme. Last year was red, green and gold and this years it's bright, fun and colourful. I have been buying over the last month various different decorations to go on it, from toy boxes to ginger bread men. I'm just an over grown child!
That and I have a toy train set running around the bottom!

Above is a gingerbread decoration from Accessorize. His happy little face caught my eye and thought it would work wonderfully for my theme of bright colours.

Above is a close up of some of the decorations on my Christmas tree. There's a ginger bread house, Rudolph, a polar bear, bauble with a wooden house scene and a bauble with my husbands name.

I hope you liked my decorations and I would love to know what you're favourite one is!

Lot's of love,
