Bedroom Tour & My August Favourites

Hello! I hope you are well. It's been a crazy last couple of weeks for me, so I've not been posting as regularly as I would like. But my commitment to myself, and to you, is to post every Sunday.

So on today's post I thought I would do a bedroom tour and combine it with my August favs. A lot of my August favourites are home ware so I wanted to share with you what I have been buying.

When you walk into my bedroom you wouldn't think it was a bedroom of a 32 year old married woman (least that's what I think!). I imagine the bedroom of a 32 year old married woman to be elegant, classy, sophisticated. Not girly, sparkly, flowery and pink! I guess I'm young at heart and have a husband who doesn't mind me taking over the bedroom!

I've always found any bedroom of mine a place of solitude and comfort. Somewhere I can retreat to and feel secure in, so I do invest time and money making it somewhere I can feel relaxed.

Recently I have purchased some items online, so let me show you around...

This is a cork pin board from Wilko's. I find it really handy to pin business cards and other info I need to remember on this board. As it was from Wilko's it was super cheap, something like £3.
This sits next to my window on top of my Really Useful rainbow 11 draw tower (find it at Hobbycraft).
This draw tower is great for storing all my make up and adds colour to a plain room.
Also featured is an owl ornament I purchased from Homebase (random I know!).

On my husbands side of the bed is a wooden beside table. On top of it I have a wooden draw set from The Card Factory, with a framed quote, also from The Card Factory.
Tip: If you haven't been into The Card Factory I would say it was worth a visit. They do a range of homeware decor pieces at really affordable prices. I think the draws were under £5 and the framed quote was £1.99.
Also I have some faux flowers from Sainburys and a floral print coaster from Dunelm.

The three photo's above are of my bed. As beds tend to be the focal point of a bedroom I like to make mine look pretty and well dressed.
I have recently changed my covers to this one by Accessorize in Dunelm. On the under side of the duvet cover is a bright flower print, and as much as I like it I found it was a bit over powering, so for now I have turned it over to this gold geometric stripe side.
I have dressed it with my cloud cushion from Ikea and my two quote cushions from The Card Factory.
If my maths is correct, the duvet cover and three pillows comes to a bargain £26! (£12 for king size duvet cover, £3.99 each for quote cushions and £6 for cloud pillow!).
I've also shown my eye mask which I recently purchased from Typo.com. That was super affordable too and I love the design!
I do like shopping around for great deals!

Also I have a collection of magazines for a bed time read. I do like my monthly magazines and find it very relaxing chilling on the bed, cup of tea to hand and magazine to read :)

The three photo's above show my make up table. I haven't a lot of room so I have been creative in my use of storage.

The wooden box is from Typo.com and is the perfect fit on my table and give's me ample storage for my favourite make up pieces. On the Typo website they have used it lying down with items placed in the top, but I had my creative hat on (figuratively speaking!) and thought this would be ideal for storage.
It arrived quickly in the post, with a very helpful delivery man (thanks Neil!) and I even got 20% off my entire order by signing up to their email newsletter.

On top of this I have three glasses in a tropical theme. I think these look cool and a much better use as storage pots. The left and the right ones are from Ikea and were less than £1 each and the middle one is from a home and gift shop in Arundel called Sparks Yard, but you can also buy it from Sass and Belle website.
Next to that is my Chloe storage box. I love the design of this (yes I know it doesn't quite tie in with the theme but I like it and it works for my storage needs!). This is from Homebird Boutique website. I love independent homeware shops and websites. You can find some great items and you know it's more special as it's not a mass produced item.
I received amazing customer service from them when I had trouble trying to pay for my purchase online and received a complimentary chalkboard bunting with my order as a way of a thank you.
That's how to keep customers (don't talk to me about some of the awful customer service I received in some shops in Brighton yesterday-they can learn a lot from Homebird Boutique!).

These photo's above are of my desk. Since I started blogging I have found having an dedicated area to write my blog on is so useful. Also I love the excuse to create an girly area!

On my desk I have tried to keep it uncluttered my decorated with things that reflect me and my tastes.
The desk it's self is from Ikea and I think a staple with a lot of bloggers and vloggers.
On the top in the right hand corner is a draw set with from Dunelm. This was approx £12 and is full of nail polishes.
Next to them are a collection of pens in pots I have commandeered for them. The pink bucket is from Sparks Yard in Arundel. The ombre pot from Homesense and the polka dot pot is a mug from Cath Kidston.
On top of the draws is a faux potted flower (I would love to use real flowers but they do not have as much longevity as faux flowers!) and couple of trinkets.

In the middle of my desk is my DAB radio, with a framed blogger quote from Coconut-Lane.com. I love this as I feel it gives my desk it's purpose (for blogging).
Also I have a pink glittery unicorn from Primark, a set of Russian dolls my sister brought back for me from Russia and a unicorn pen.
The green frame is from Accessorize along with the post card inside it.

On the left of my desk is a mirrored jewelry box, with my copper Ikea lamp and Cath Kidston lavender scent candle.

And that is my bedroom tour. I hope you like it and it gives you some inspiration on design and storage ideas. I will link below all the websites you can purchase these items from.

Lot's of love,
