July Favs

31 July 2016

Woo hoo! Monthly favs time! This month has been pretty busy with work and has resulted in the beginning of the month going post crazy, then tailing off. I'm finding that once I take my foot of the gas, as it were, it's harder to get back on track with posting.
I don't know if any other bloggers feel the same way. I guess trying to work full time, have some free time and blog is a fine balance.

But I didn't want to miss out on a monthly favs, so here I am on a Sunday evening writing this blog. I do enjoy my blog so keeping it fresh is important to me. #dedicationtothecause

So let me begin with some make up favs....

A day out in Arundel, West Sussex

24 July 2016

Living in Sussex certaintly has it's perks. There's the beautiful coast line, the country side, lot's of very pretty villages and some great cities too. One place that pulls in the tourists is Arundel.
If you haven't visited Arundel before, it is located a few miles inland from Littlehampton on the A27.

Being that it is also not far from Chichester, Dan and myself decided to take a trip to have a walk around and take some photo's today. We also found out that the Arundel Proms was on this weekend and the Littlehampton Concert Band were playing on the green beside the castle and River Arun. Dan's uncle and grandad were both playing in the band so we took the opportunity to have a listen and watch them performing.
A beautiful Ford Mustang

Luckily the weather was on our side so we walked along Mill Road towards Swanbourne Lake.
Swanbourne Lake is somewhere I have been visiting since a child. It's barely changed over the years and that I love as it's kept it's charm and natual beauty. You can hire a rowing boat to take a scenic view of the lake and the surrounding area. But I normally opt for a walk around the perimeter of the lake, which I would guess takes about half an hour, perhaps a bit longer depending on your walking speed.
I ended up seeing a little path towards a hill and after a quick scramble through some brambles and over a gate I headed further up the hill.
This spot gave me a great vantage point over towards the castle and further beyond to Littlehampton and the coast. A great spot if you are looking for somewhere to chill out and enjoy the view.

Twitter blog chat times

21 July 2016

I've been partaking in some Twitter chats recently, but I keep seeing more and more hashtags appear for chats. Or I keep catching the tale end of the chats.

So I decided to do a bit of a Google search and find out what times these chats are. I've created a poster which you are free to download to use as reference (as I'm kind like that!).

If you know of any other chat's please do let me know. I look forward to chatting to you on these chats!

What to do in Brighton

20 July 2016

It felt like the other day that I hadn't been out of Chichester for quite a while, so whilst the weather was being uncharacteristically summery I decided to take a trip to the sea side town of Brighton.
You may of seen in previous posts that I have been to Brighton on a number of occasions before. You've got a great array of high street stores, the infamous Laines and the beach and pier, what's not to love!

Introducing Miss Magpie Fashion Spy

17 July 2016

I love stationery and greeting cards. If I pop into my local town I often pop into Paperchase and have a good snoop around their stationery gems. One of my other favourite outlets for stationery is The Flying Tiger (previously Tiger) and Ohh Deer.
Also have you seen the stationery from Kate Spade, ultimate stationery goals!

Anyway back to the reason for this post, when I was Twitter a couple of months ago I saw a tweet from Miss Magpie Fashion Spy. She was looking for stockists for her products. Now we all know I'm not a stockist but I had been previously seen the products she designs and thought they were so pretty, so I sent an email off to ask if she would be happy for me to share with you some of her beautiful illustrations.
And much to my delight, Sarah who works with Niki (who is the creator of these illustrations) responded that she would love for me to share with you some of Niki's gorgeous designs.

What I've been loving online today | 5 celebs on their anxiety

15 July 2016

Hello and happy Friday to you!

You find me currently on my sofa, laptop in front of me and a cup of tea at the ready! As my per my normal resource for sharing what I have loved online today, I saw this video from Hello Giggles on Facebook..
The video features quotes from 5 famous ladies and how their anxiety has affected them.

I find this refreshing as when I was about 14 I had severe anxiety, I was having panic attacks daily and I didn't have a clue what was wrong with me. About a year or so later I discovered the word 'depression' and 'anxiety' after reading an article about someone who suffered from this also.
It was like a light bulb moment, suddenly I had a name and some context to what my body was experiencing.

Now I have learnt from self education and from my husband also who is a fully qualified psychotherapist and hypnotherapist, about the biology and psychology of what triggers anxiety and how anxiety works.

This video goes to show it doesn't matter who you are, whether famous or not, anxiety can happen to anyone, even the greats such as Adele.

Anyway have a little watch and I hope it makes at least one person rest assure they are not alone.
You can find the original post of the video here.

What I've been loving online today | Cath Kidson x Disney collab

13 July 2016

Apologies for the last few days where I haven't posted 'WIBLOT' for the last few days. Blame tiredness and feeling a bit poorly. But I'm back in full force and have something I think is amazing!

If you know anything about me you will know I love Cath Kidston. Only the other day I got another pair of CK trainers. I am in the CK mailing list and saw the most fantastic collab since me and Abbey Louisa Rose!
Cath Kidston have teamed up with Disney to create some new floral designs! The designs so far appear to feature Winnie the Pooh in their infamous floral patterns. I love Disney, I love CK, so this is a match made in heaven!

According to Retail Times website; 'The Winnie-the-Pooh collection will be available exclusively in Cath Kidston stores in the UK and online on 26 September 2016 and overseas from 27 September. A second Disney collection will feature Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse and will arrive in store and online on 5 December 2016. Further collections are set to roll out over time, with the Disney characters for these future ranges to be announced in due course.
The new prints will be available across all of Cath Kidston categories including accessories, homeware, kids, and fashion. The Disney x Cath Kidston range is limited edition and will be stocked in selected Cath Kidston stores in the UK, overseas and online at CathKidston.com'.

How amazing does that sound. I know my Christmas wish list is now sorted! Roll on September!

Who inspires me

10 July 2016

Inspiration can come from the unlikeness of sources. I could be watching a film, reading a book or just walking down the road and get that light bulb moment.

And in the the spirit of positivity I want to share the people who inspire me and give me motivation and hope for the future.
There are so many wonderful people out there that, whether they realise or it not make such a difference to my view on various different aspects of life.
Here are my ultimate in Inspirational People

Alfie Deyes and Zoe Sugg aka Pointless Blog and Zoella

Maybe not your obvious choice, but to me these two have such a powerful and positive influence over the youth of today (gosh makes me sound old!).
Going from 0 to 60 in a matter of a few years, Alfie and Zoe, or Zalfie as they are commonly known, have taken Youtube and social media by storm. And rather than living the high life and showing a life of luxury (despite living in a near £1million house!), they to me are extremely down to earth.
I watch Alfie's daily vlogs most days and I often comment on the dynamics between himself and Zoe are so reminiscent to myself and Dan. Just like any other couple.
But that aside, the inspiration they give to me is priceless. They have shown that anyone can make what they do become a reality. They are instrumental, especially Zoe in inspiring me to start my blog. I love Zoe's blog and that sowed the seed for me getting finger to key pad (not really pen to paper anymore!) and start writing about what I'm passionate about.

What I've been loving online today | Angie Makes

9 July 2016

Hello and welcome to the weekend!

I was having a good think of what to share with you today of what I have been loving online. The website AngieMakes.com is something of a gem I have been referring to for a while now and is too good not to share.

Whilst searching for free clipart for my blog I can across this site and have been in love with it ever since. Angie has a whole range of clipart and freebies to use for your blog or any craft project for that matter. It really is a treasure trove of girly images to use to your hearts content.

I have been downloading various clipart images and using them on Pic Monkey. So much fun and all free!

What I've been loving online today | Zoella's suede fringed bag

7 July 2016

Hi there!
So day three of what I've been loving online and today it is a bag :)

I watched Zoella's lastest vlog, and she was carrying a lovely dark red back pack in suede with fringing on the side from Topshop. I love Zoe's style and I must admit I do tend to take heed from her and use her as inspiration (I am certainly no trendsetter- more like a sheep!).
I also have the same skirt she is wearing in this vlog from Pull&Bear, though she does carry it off far better than me! I'm no longer as slim as Zoe is (those were the days- welcome to your 30's!).

I have been converted to backpacks and been keeping my eye out for a new bag. So when I saw Zoe fashion this bag I thought, go on treat yourself! As I was on the Topshop website I also got a leather holdall for £10 (leather bag for tenner- bargain!), a grey t-shirt with Get It Girl on the front and some pin badges for £1!

So thanks Zoe for the style tip! I'm looking forward to my new bag, be it that I've done a splurge quite unnecessarily! Oops!

If you like the bag too, you can find it here.

What I've been loving online today | Girl Power 2016

6 July 2016

Hi there!

Thanks for checking out what I have been loving online today.

Whilst on Facebook earlier today a video posted by Victoria Beckham started to play. Set to the Spice Girls 'Wannabe', it instantly had to watch. Girl Power forever!

The video is from The Global Goals which 'are making the Sustainable Development Goals famous in order to end poverty, fight inequality & tackle climate change'.

I love the message that they are promoting about gender equality. And is their message to world leaders.

Have a look for yourself. I bet you'll be singing along! Show your support with #WhatIReallyReallyWant

What's in my handbag

It seems to be a vlogger or blogger by nature a 'Whats in your handbag' is a video/post is a must have. So here I am falling into the trap of generic content and doing said post. But what the heck, why not?
Not that imagine it's of much interest to anyone, but should you be wondering 'What is in your handbag?' then fret no more and let me indulge you...

My bag of choice at the moment is by Fiorelli, which make great high street hand bags. They have designer inspiration but at my price range (ie doesn't make me bankrupt to buy one!). This one is a back pack with a front pocket, main zipped compartment and a zipped compartment on the back.
I have been using this day in and day out for months.
I used to buy handbags like they were going out of fashion, but I've stuck with this trusty bag for a long time now. It's comfy to wear, goes with any outfit and is just the right size.
I used to wear cross body and shoulder handbags, but now I am 100% converted to the backpack.

What I've been loving online today | Bread cats

5 July 2016

Every day I am to bring you one article I have found online that has just made me smile and to share with you, after all #sharingiscaring

So today's news story is from Hello Giggles and is about bread made to look like cats. Sounds purr-fect (sorry!). These feline themed breads are adorable and did make me smile when I saw the pictures of them.

Have a look and see what you think here

Feel free to leave a comment about what you make of this novelty dough!

My June favourites

3 July 2016

It only feels like I just did my last monthly favourites and here we meet again. So June has been a funny old month, thrown the country into mass quandary over Brexit. Along with an month of weather more resembling Autumn then Summer, it's been a bit unstable to say the least.

But that a side I want to keep consistency on my blog and do my second monthly favourites. I will be honest as it seems only recently I did my last favourites post I've not got a vast amount to report, but what I do have been my favourites, and that I want to share with you.

So let's begin...

So you may of seen in a previous post my wonderful husband had asked Giovanna Fletcher to answer some questions for my blog which you can read here.
My husband managed to meet Giovanna at a book signing for her new book Always with Love. This is Giovanna's fifth book and is a continuation on from the Billy and Me novel.

I was excited to read Always with Love as I am a huge fan of Giovanna's previous novels. I also loved Billy and Me as it told of a love story from the point of view of Sophie May, who is a quiet and unassuming character just going about her life in a quite village, overcoming the death of her dad and dealing with her anxieties.
She then meets Billy, who she slowly recognizes as a famous British actor who is filming in her village. Long story short, they end up together in Billy and Me but not after overcoming a number of obstacles.
