May favourites

I can't believe it's that time again, reviewing my monthly favs!
This month it has mostly been make up, but the odd book thrown in too. So let's waste no time and see what I've been rating!

First off is the make up brand NYX. So in love with this brand at the mo. I was visiting my local Boot's store and just happen to see an NYX stand. I got stupidly excited, much to my husbands amusement and took to deciding what to buy. Here is what I have brought and been loving.

Sculpt and high light pencil- I'm always searching for an eyebrow pencil in just the right shade, most are either too dark or too light. But this one is spot on! It has a brown shaded pencil one end and a light creamy colour at the opposite end to create a high lighting effect beneath your brow.
So easy to use and I love the effect.

Gel pencil liner in black- I have already copious amounts of eye liners, but what the heck, why not one more! This one has a pencil sharpener in the end which is v useful. The pencil glides onto the lid and is a good shade of black. The effect I would say is more pencil then gel, but still gives me he desired effect. It doesn't smudge either, so has staying power. Definitely would recommend this.

Doll eye mascara- My current mascara is running low so I picked this one up. I like mascara's that give volume and this one I'm afraid does not do this. It does give coverage but it's not for those who want the full lash effect. The best use for this is for bottom lashes as it isn't thick or clumpy so covers those bottom lashes without looking like spider legs. Even though it's not a favourite as such I wanted to share it with you :)

Dream Catcher palette, Dusk to Dawn- I saw this online a few months ago and really wanted to get it, but at the time I didn't have any nearby stores to get one. So as soon as I saw it for sale in Boots I grabbed it. I love the shimmery tones. I've mostly been using the more golden shades, as I'm not confident on wearing blue with my brown eyes.

Rimmel Rita Ora collection in shade Wilder-ness- I picked up this shade as I'm a fan of lavender and lilac pastel shades. I have been wearing this shade most of May and received a number of comments on how lovely the shade is. It's not often I stick to one shade for so long, so it must be good!

Photomatic
Black and white photo booth photos- I visited a shop called Photomatic in the Laines in Brighton that is solely two photo booths inside. There are a number of props to use too. In the window of the shop is blown up photo's of when Zoella and Mark visited and took some fun photos.
It costs £4 if I remember correctly for one go, which gives you 4 photo's. There is one black and white booth and one colour booth.
I think this is such a great idea, perfect for a holiday souvenir, or for a birthday treat or just having a snap with friends or a loved on. I really like these photos (more about the fun shots rather than my face!). I've brought a frame to put these in as a momento of our visit to Brighton.

Summer nights at the Moonlight Hotel by Jane Costello- I love having a good bed time read and this is the most recent book I've read.
I have read all Jane's previous books, so was eager to get my nose into this one. The story centres around Lauren who lives in the Peak District and has fond memories of a local hotel. The hotel is taken over and changes are planned to be made, but to Lauren's dislike. Around this Lauren starts attending a local Salsa class with her two close friends and much fun and drama is had by joining this group. I don't want to give too much away in case you may like to read it yourself, but suffice to say it was enjoyable read. I did successfully predict part of the story line but that aside it was a lovely and pleasant read, perfect for bed time or ideal for a holiday.
Also I would recommend Jane's previous novels too, especially her debut novel Bridesmaids (not linked to the film of the same name).

Thanks for taking time to read my May fav's. Here's to find more to love on June!

Lot's of love,
