New beauty products

I recently watched a youtube video by vlogger extraordinaire Zoella and she reviewed a selection of new beauty products and being easily influenced I decided on the back of her recommendations to try a couple of the products myself.
All the one's she reviewed looked fab and being that I don't get sent anything to try for free, I spent my hard earned cash on two products.

I went for the Clarin's waterproof eyeshadow and Urban Decay afterglow highlighter. Being that I'm always looking for a really pretty highligher and the eyeshadow looked like a gorgeous tone I had high expectations!

First off I went to the Urban Decay 8 hour highlighter in shade Fireball. It come's in a shiny reflective box and the pot itself has a silver colour finish. Already I liked the look of this.
Inside is a lovely soft pink shade with a hint of iridescence. The texture of the powder is light and it blends really well.
I liked the colour on my cheeks as it added a pink tone without looking too much and it does last for a good number of hours. Whether it lasts 8 hours I need to wear a bit more to test it thoroughly, but so far so good.
I have a pale to medium skin tone which I think this shade suits well. All in all I was pretty pleased with this and look forward to using it again and again!

I then tried the Clarin's waterproof eyeshadow in shade 01. It comes in the classic Clarin's box and the eyeshadow it'self being a creamy texture comes in a gold colour tube.
The shade I chose is a gold shimmery tone. I think with my skin colour and brown eyes and hair, warm tones suit me the best and my favourite shades are shimmery golds, coppers, bronzes and pinks.
As the packaging says it is a creamy texture, which is easily applied to the lid and gives a shimmery effect. The colour isn't particularly bold but still adds a pretty gold shine. I've been using my Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours the Brave palette to add some darker definition at the corners of my eyes when using this Clarin's eyeshadow.
I love the colour this gives and is my go to shadow for day to day wear. I think I'll try it for a more dramatic eye look tomorrow evening when I go out for drinks with my sister. Perhaps a gold/brown smoky eye look?

Both items are a bit pricey but I would say they are worth the money. I'm sure there are some more affordable dupes out there, but sometimes it's nice to invest in good quality products.

I hope you liked my review and would like to know you're opinions if you've tried them too!

Anyway it's nearing my bed time. I'm hoping to post how I accessorized a pair of jeans with some cools iron on patches soon, my new Bombay hair curler and also my April favs. So stayed tuned!

Love,

Abbie xxx
